Clean Disk Errors: Works with XP AND VISTA Run Disk Check: 4. In the Check Disk dialog box, check all the check boxes. Click Start. It’s optional to schedule to do this every-time you restart your computer don’t bother with this for now. PLEASE HELP |
| Run Disk Cleanup: 1. In your Start menu, click My Computer. 2. Inside My Computer dialog box, right-click on the drive you wish to check for errors (this will be the C: drive in most cases, unless you have multiple drives on your computer), and click Properties. 3. In the Properties dialog box, click Disk Cleanup. 4. Disk Cleanup will calculate how much space you can free up on your hard drive. After its scan, the Disk Cleanup dialog box reports a list of files you can remove from your computer. This scan can take a while depending on how many files you have lying around on your computer. 5. After scan is complete, in the Disk Cleanup dialog box, click View Files to see what Disk Cleanup will remove on your say so. You can check and uncheck boxes to choose what you wish to keep or remove. When your happy click OK. PLEASE HELP |
| Run the Disk Defragmenter: 1. In your Start menu, click My Computer. 2. Inside My Computer dialog box, right-click on the drive you wish to check for errors (this will be the C: drive in most cases, unless you have multiple drives on your computer), and click Properties. 3. In the Properties dialog box, click the Tools tab, and then in the Defragmentation section, click Defragment Now. 4. In the Disk Defragmenter dialog box, select the Drive (this will be the C: drive in most cases) at the top of the screen, and then click Analyze. 5. After analyzing your computer, the Disk Defragmenter displays a message saying if you should defragment or not. Press Defragment to clean up your computer if necessary. PLEASE HELP |
